The Doughty Family Foundation has supported the Cranfield University School of Management through a commitment of £1.6 million which funded the establishment of the Doughty Chair and the Doughty Centre for Corporate Responsibility. The University has a long heritage of thought leadership in sustainability and corporate responsibility. The Doughty Centre for Corporate Responsibility is an action-research centre within Cranfield School of Management. It works closely with academia, business, and other partner organisations and networks to advise, teach, research, and publish books, articles, reports and practical How-to guides.

The Foundation supported The Cranfield Trust (SMART fund) by donating a further sums in 2009/2010.
